Jeff with cormorants in the Falkland Islands
Jeff Hammond is a freelance photographer from Bloomington Indiana, who combines his passion for both photography and the natural world to craft images such as the ones you will find throughout this site. While shooting a broad spectrum of photographic subjects, his primary emphasis is on wildlife with a strong focus on birds...particularly birds in flight.

His work has been seen in magazines such as Outdoor Indiana, Bloom Magazine, Long Weekends, AAA, Sea Ray Living, Kentucky Monthly, Women in the Outdoors, Cincinnati Magazine and Ohio Magazine, various books and in numerous newspapers from Bloomington to Denver. His work has garnered many awards in art exhibitions, including multi-year accolades of "Best of Show" in the Wings Over Muscatatuck Photography contest and multi-year "Winner" of the photography division of the Nature's Inspiration contest in Carmel, Indiana.

In addition to creating images such as these, Jeff serves on the Board of Directors for the Bloomington Photography Club, for which he also serves on its Programming and Special Events Committee. He is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA), Hoosier Outdoor Writers and Western Outdoor Writers. He leads photography outings for various groups, provides presentations to clubs and other organizations and provides volunteer services for Big Brothers & Big Sisters and the Bloomington Volunteer Network.

In his spare time, he holds Federal and State banding permits which have allowed him to volunteer as a station leader for four years of the Project Owlnet Northern Saw-whet Owl banding project in the Yellowwood State Forest in Brown County, Indiana.
